14. When I’m describing writing I’ll sort of draw a squiggly line in the air relative to where the actual writing was on the piece of paper.

Sure it won’t be the same show, but that doesn’t mean you still shouldn’t give it a change. Hell, none of you have seen a second of the upcoming season and you’re already passing it off as being ruined.
ShitRedditSaysDiscussion from a debater’s perspective
I was off on reddit reading the guidelines for SRSD when I came upon some particular points that made me shake my head. Let me make this very clear though: I agree with a large percentage of what they stand for to a much less-radical/militant extent. I just REALLY don’t like the way they conduct themselves.
“SRSD is a progressive, feminist, anti-racist, LGBTQ-positive subreddit; you do not necessarily need to identify as all of these, but if you are actively opposed to any of these you will be asked to leave.”
How is telling someone who doesn’t agree with you to “fuck off and go away” going to change anything? If someone posts something that you don’t agree with in your space, you should take advantage of the fact thatthey just posted the wrong thing in the wrong place. Educate them on why what they say or believe is incorrect or hurtful. A truly equal and meaningful discussion requires that both sides have the same argumentative agency, something that SRSD just doesn’t promote. That, and if you just block them they’ll take their shit somewhere else, effectively NOT solving the problem.
“Participating in SRSD requires a basic understanding of terms like privilege, rape culture, institutionalized racism and so on, as defined in these posts. Attempting to twist definitions may result in a warning”
I can understand certain “twisting of definitions” to meet a certain end, but this rule should be more specific about what type of “twisting” is unacceptable (as with most social movements, a variety of terms have a number of different interpretations, and it’s important to acknowledge the views of each). Otherwise I can see it becoming a problem (think of it as a Spec/T debate). As with before, if someone attempts to misinterpret what you feel is a certain oppressive behavior, don’t threaten to block them just yet (if it gets too bad, then it’s probably okay though), TELL THEM WHY THEY’RE INCORRECT.
A letter to all the self-righteous downvote brigades of reddit
TAKE A FUCKING JOKE.
Say what you want, this song is still as amazing as it was when I first heard it four years ago.
